Musical challenge: The Wiggles V AC/DC
August 2nd 2008 07:38
The musical challenge that I'm referring to specifically was that concocted by Andrew Denton during his breakfast radio days on Triple M. The premise was that you get artists to perform songs that were not in their genre, or not ones you would associate with the artist stylistically.
Hence you get Human Nature doing Iggy Pop, Tina Arena doing Cold Chiesel, Rolf Harris doing The Divinyls, The Wiggles doing AC/DC (genius) and The Cruel Sea covering Minnie Riperton.
Now, my computer and tech skills are limiting my ability to share these wonderful moments in the history of music with you, because I have no idea how to upload audio files to this blog (I don't even know if that's possible) and YouTube has failed me.
However, I did find some home videos that were set to The Wiggles covering "It's A Long Way To The Top", so to enable a compare and contrast (necessary for heightened enjoyment of the cover version), I've added AC/DC original version below as well.
The Wiggle's version
If you're not rolling on the floor with laughter, well, I guess there's nothing I can do about it...but I would be disappointed if you didn't laugh as hard as I did the first time I heard it.
