Popular, not just POP: Love will lead you back

Okay, I am unabashedly, a fan of pop music. From brainless no-brainers to more intelligent lyrical ones. I want to take this opportunity to present my reasons why you shouldn't be ashamed that you like Love will lead you back - Taylor Dayne.
I remember first hearing this song way back when it was released in 1990. As a primary school kid then, I only had a very silly concept of what a relationship was. However, seeing the video on TV and subsequently hearing the song on radio, I grew to love the song for its melody and the amazing voice of Taylor Dayne.
Saying goodbye is never an easy thing
But you never said, that you'd stay forever
So if you must go well darling I'll set you free
But I know in time that we'll be together
I wont try to stop you now from leaving
Cause in my heart I know
(chorus)
Love will lead you back
Someday I just know that
Love will lead you back to my arms
Where you belong
I'm sure, sure as stars are shining
One day you will find me again
It won't be long
One of these days our love will lead you back
One of these nights
Well I'll hear your voice again
You're gonna say how much you miss me
You walked out this door
But someday you'll walk back in
Darling I know, I know this will be
Sometimes it takes, sometime out on your own now
To find your way back home
(repeat chorus)
But I won't try to stop you now from leaving
Cause in my heart I know...oh yeah
(repeat chorus)
Love will lead you back
Someday I just know that
Love will lead you back to my arms
It won't be long
One of these days
Our love will lead you back
As I've grown up now and can see more of the different relationships that can pan out, I remain an avid believer in fate and destiny. Sometimes, just sometimes,an idiot must walk away from something for them to see that what they once had was the best thing ever.
From the first notes sounded on the keyboard and drum beats that come in, I can imagine a soul singer up on stage in an intimate venue with dimmed lights and lamp shades. Whether there are any people in the audience suffering from a broken heart or not, the singer is absolutely determined to prove to everyone that her love will come back to her.
Taylor Dayne takes a similar vein for her video. It's a simple set up showing her and her band performing the song, almost as in in rehearsal for a show later on. It's casual, but it's all about the song.
Whether you like Taylor Dayne or not, I can't think of anyone else who could've done this song better. Times and situations change, but the loss of a loved one is universal theme. Everyone should be able to relate to it in one form or another.
